This contemporary, family beach home has a relaxed and understated sophistication about it. The use of polished concrete, feature masonry, high ceilings and expansive glazing has created a light filled, spacious home with a strong connection to the surrounding environment. It has also resulted in a durable and low maintenance home to help minimise the corrosive effects of its beachside location.

The kitchen and living areas have been dedicated to the top floor to take advantage of the ocean views and sea breezes. To ensure a practical connection between the pool and main living areas, a custom designed spiral stair was fabricated in powder coated aluminium and installed to the upper living deck area.

The interiors begin with exposed polished concrete floors to introduce the warm tones of the Sorrento pebble mix into the palette. A winding set of American White Oak stairs sets the tone for the washed-out oak colours seen in the joinery throughout. Meanwhile the feature render, exposed blockwork and off form concrete ceilings add plenty of texture and substance, which are offset with a tapestry and plush furnishings.
